Beckie Williams campaign for fairer bra sizes
Watched GMTV this morning and a guest called Beckie Williams was on the program. Her campaign is fo fairer prices for larger cupped ladies especially from high street store Marks & Spencer.
The story is also covered at the BBC and Daily mail.
Beckie's and Becky Mount's campaign is on Facebook Busts 4 Justice.
At first light this may seem like a reasonable request until you consider this in context of other items. Take the building of a home, would you expect to pay the same for a mansion as you would for a town house?
Where the price for the same style bra is the same, does this not mean that those with A cups are subsiding those with D cups, those with D cups subsiding those with K cups?
Sorry girls I have tried my best to come up with a logical reason why larger bras should cost the same. Only one reason comes to mind and that is that from administration and that is for the benefit of the suppliers.
Let us assume that a company did produce a certain style of bra in all sizes for the same price, then consider what might happen. A rival company might well produce a similar bra but only in sizes 30A to 40D. Now the company with the largest range, will in the market place be at a disadvantage for smaller sizes since their price pays for the extra material etc for the larger sizes. Since the sales of the smaller sizes drop then the company needs to increase prices to maintain profit. the sales would drop since those with smaller cups are going to buy the cheaper bra. Again with lower sales of smaller sizes, the manufacturing cost rise since there is a smaller production run. The company will, if they have any sense, stop production of the smaller sizes and only produce the bra in sizes DD+. Once again it makes logical sense to have a split in the prices of the bra so that the smaller sizes can compete with similar sizes from companies only producing smaller sizes.
Well I look forward to logical arguments in your comments as to why the price should be the same!!!!!
